Jerez de la Frontera is the largest city in the province of Cadiz – a city adorned by images and statues of Spanish horses. During these holidays guests are invited “behind the scenes” at the Royal School, to watch the training, and to ride the fabulous schoolmaster Spanish stallions under the expert guidance of one of the Royal School’s instructors. The holidays are aimed at intermediate level riders and accompanying non-riders are very welcome. Senior rider/instructors at the Royal Andalucian School of Equestrian Art include Rafael Soto and Ignacio Rambla, both members of the Spanish Olympic Dressage Team.
The Royal Andalucian School of Equestrian Art (Fundacion Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre) was founded in 1973 by Don Alvaro Domecq Romero and is one of the four major classical institutions. Adjacent to the Recreo de las Cadenas Palace in Jerez, the School has 140 horses, a team of 16 instructors, a wonderful collection of 19 carriages and their harness, saddles and embroidery for horses and coachmen - all pieces of incalculable historical value. The School is known all over the world, in particular for its equestrian show "How the Andalusian Horses Dance" - a unique exhibition of classical horsemanship.
